Providing Website Design & Promotion to Financial Advisors & Mortgage Brokers |
Compliance
We are proud of the service and compliance support we provide to our members.
To assist us in making the reapproval process smooth for your website, can you please give us a minimum of 4 weeks notice when your site is due for Compliance Approval. This is particularly applicable to those Appointed Representatives and Network members.
In relation to Sesame firms, Sesame Advertising will normally email you a reminder and we would ask that you forward this to david@ukadvice.net as soon as it is received.
Remember our unique facility creates a “mirror site” that can be updated and submitted without the need to remove your current site whilst changes / approval are being sought. This sophisticated system allows you to maintain your online identity without interruption.

Changing Networks It's straight forward for us to adapt you website if changing authorisation. We have had a number of firms recently leaving networks and moving to direct authorisation. All we require is your new FSA number and we will do the rest. (Back to top)
Estate Agents, Accountants and Solicitors We are pleased to announce we have developed website packages for Estate Agents, Accountants and Solicitors.
Many firms will have close relationships with the above and may even own estate agent businesses. Our offerings are very competitive.
Our Estate Agent package is extremely sophisticated and provides the following core functionality:
-
Add/delete and manage property listings online in a back office location
-
Download photos etc onto an online schedule
-
Consumers can use certain search criteria via the website and view properties online including the ability to download the relevant property schedules.
View our demo site at: http://property0.digitalroutes.co.uk If you would like to see the administration tool behind the demo please contact val@ukadvice.net (Back to top)
emails Included in the UK Advice IFA package is domain name registration of a .co.uk domain, hosting and pop accounts. Companies can have unlimited pop accounts on our server and we can arrange for email addresses to send to other pop accounts eg john.smith@ can receive enquiries@ and info@
Spam is a huge problem to all hosting companies and there have been several measures to resolve the headache of spam:
- no catchall email accounts - all accounts are specified names. This prevents harvesters guessing email addresses and reduces the number of spam
- anti-virus & anti-spam software - our servers have both of these installed and we currently automatically reject approx 40% of emails received daily. If our server is unsure as to whether it is spam it will be tagged Spam in the subject header
- implementing rules on your email application ie Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird eg you can tell it that any emails with SPAM in the subject header should be sent to the deleted folder.
A combination of all of the above ensures minimum disruption from Spam. Find out more on the server status page at heartbeat.digitalroutes.co.uk Every pop account on our server also has webmail enabled and you can download instructions from the Heartbeat page too. this is particularly useful if you are going to be out of the office for a period of time. For your username and password please contact val@ukadvice.net The heartbeat page also details any problems we are experiencing on the web and mail server so it would be a good idea to bookmark this page for future reference and go to this page first if you have problems.

Search Engine Optimisation The worldwide web is very competitive and getting your website high page ranked on the search engines can be extremely complex. All UK Advice websites are built to be search engine friendly and fully indexed. The search engine algorithms are basic and are as follows:
Page titles – good relevant page titles incorporating “keywords” up to 90 characters are read and indexed by search engines
Page Content – repetition of keywords throughout page content to emphasise the importance of page ranking.
Reciprocal links – websites are ranked by how important they are and this is qualified by how many links come to their website. In order to get a link to your site usually requires a link back …. Called a reciprocal link. (remember if you wish a Free links page added to your site please email val@ukadvice.net)
DM Web Solutions Ltd has incorporated a matrix page to link to all of our IFA & Mortgage clients' websites to feature as links to their websites with heavily loaded keywords. See www.ukadvice.net/ifa_list.php. To benefit in the search engines from this matrix in the search engines, a reciprocal link needs to be included in your site back to the list. If you would like us to insert a link on your website to the matrix please contact val@ukadvice.net
We would encourage you to speak to professional contacts such as Accountants, Solicitors and Estate agents with the view of swapping links to each other’s websites. Not only can this assist in search listings but can also be an “ice-breaker” in creating new working relationships with possible introducers.
If you wish to discuss your page titles etc please email val@ukadvice.net (Back to top)
DM Web Solution Ltd's Online consumer directory No other supplier gives something back to member firms to assist in business generation. We have invested even further in our consumer directory at www.ukadvice.net
We want to build affordable, compliant websites but we also want the public to find them.
We promoted all our sites on the above, free of charge. We are now bidding on over a 4000 keyphrases (pay-per-click) and the site appears top on many of the geographical listings via search engines such as Yahoo, Google, MSN and Wanadoo.
We have further developed the UK Advice site to enable consumers not only to search via the map but also by entering a postcode. The search results are derived from the first two alpha/numeric digits entered and we have developed a tool to enable us to add up to ten postcodes to an IFA listing. It would be helpful if you could experiment with the postcode to ensure we have listed relevant - if there are any you would like to add or remove please send an email to val@ukadvice.net
Many enquiries will come direct to you via the online map and we have passed on numerous leads via the consumer enquiry form. We are always keen to have feedback on any success stories. (Back to top)

UK Advice can supply IFA websites with a daily statistic package so individuals can view and review who, what and from where is viewing their website. Summary
Many of our clients are approached by Search Engine Optimisation companies making promises and charging huge amounts of money for improved page rankings. I was recently at a meeting of local businesses and the guest speaker was from an SEO company and a lot of what he said was not true and based on myth. We would be lying if we said it was easy – it’s not, it takes time and effort ….. but it does not have to cost you money. Following our advice about page titles, keywords and reciprocal links together with the investment UK Advice is making on improving search engine rankings will improve your site’s listing.
At UK Advice we continue to strive to offer a superior service. Our key goals are unchanged:
- Value for money for Advisers - We set our costs well below current IFA website providers. We want transparency and to provide an all-inclusive service with no hidden costs.
- Simplifying the compliance process. - Sites are built fully inclusive of text, warnings and compliance text. Websites are submitted direct to firm’s compliance dept / network for approval, removing time and frustration.
- Providing a free online directory for firms. - We find many web companies were only interested in building websites for advisers and not promoting them in any way.
